Stars Discover a New Relaxation Tool at NAACP Image Awards

Celebrities were introduced to a new way to relax at this year's NAACP Image Awards. Laurie Desjardins, founder of My Brother's Keeper Animal Sanctuary, unveiled Zen Sticks™, her unique meditation tools carved from exotic hardwoods, as an alternative way for leaders and celebrities to handle stress.

Desjardins gave several of the jeweler-polished meditation tools to celebrities attending the NAACP Image Awards who were interested in learning more about Zen Sticks and My Brother's Keeper, including India Arie, author Sharon M. Draper, Louis Gossett Jr., Jennifer Hudson, Raven Simone, and the cast of the hit TV show Heroes. While the celebrities were learning new ways to reduce their stress, they were also helping to support the tigers of My Brothers' Keeper Animal Sanctuary in Oklahoma.

Star-Quality Stress Relief-for Everyone
Celebrities are often traveling, performing, and living their fast-paced lives in the public eye, but anyone with a hectic lifestyle can use this meditation tool to find a little relief from the stresses at home or at work. In addition to stress relief, many who meditate frequently have reported lower blood pressure and cholesterol levels and relief from asthma and chronic pain.

"The Zen Stick can improve your focus and your confidence, making life easier for you on a variety of different levels as the stress is eliminated from your lifestyle," said Laurie Desjardins. "If we are happy and peaceful as individuals, our decisions, lives, jobs, and loves will reflect that peace." The physical and psychological effects of meditation can be found at the Sleeping Tiger website.

How it Works
Through its simplicity, an elegant and compact Zen Stick provides stress relief in moments by requiring the user to focus completely on the meditation tool, blocking out the stresses and distractions of their surroundings and inducing a relaxed state of mind. This relaxation tool works well with several meditation techniques to help manage stress, but the most popular is to simply toss the Zen Stick a couple of inches into the air and catch it with closed eyes.

Many of the exotic hardwoods that Zen Sticks are made from have distinct wood grain patterns that shine clearly once the meditation tool has been polished. Another popular relaxation technique is to trace the wood grain with a finger around and down the length of the Zen Stick. Many celebrities say this relaxation technique helps them focus quickly in areas where tossing a Zen Stick isn't practical.

Celebrity or not, anyone interested in reducing the stress in their life can purchase a Zen Stick meditation tool at SleepingTiger.org to begin using these and other star-quality relaxation techniques.
